2nd June - Morchard Bishop Website launched

On 7th of January 2004, Morchard Bishop reached the required target to enable it to get Broadband, and in early June, our exchange wasn enabled. This means that residents of Morchard Bishop can at last have access to fast and relatively inexpensive Internet services.

The simple website that was used for the Broadband campaign has now served its purpose, and it was decided that it would be a good idea to launch a proper web-site for Morchard Bishop to provide some benefit to those residents who have helped us get broadband status.

If you have not yet registered for Broadband access, or if you would like information about Broadband, the Broadband website can still be accessed by clicking on this link. It will also be available for future reference from the Directory of web links.

The purpose of this MorchardNet website is to:

  • provide useful information to residents of Morchard Bishop
  • provide a Directory of useful telephone numbers in the village, and useful websites for residents.
  • provide access to some information about Morchard Bishop's history and heritage - for the benefit of both residents and the general public.
  • help visitors to Morchard Bishop get information about the village, directions to get here, places to stay in the area etc.
  • to have a place for us to show off some of our local artistic talent with photographs of the area, and paintings by some of our residents. No doubt this will expand to other artforms.

Please explore the various links from the Home Page and see what the website has to offer. If you feel that it would benefit from any additions to existing sections, or indeed by adding new sections, please let Keith Davies know by Emailing him. You can do so by clicking here.

In particular, please look at the Leisure section that lists things to do in the area, places to visit etc. If you know of restaurants, B&Bs, places of interest etc. that you feel should be listed, just let us know and we will add them to the list for the benefit of everybody.
